About Jim:
I'm an ageing, broken hearted romantic with a penchant for writing songs. Once played in rock bands but now sing at karaoke and still play guitar without the audiences.
I'm a grandad, although I don't behave like one and still have plenty of hair which I get cut once every year, whether I need a haircut or not.
(All my 4 grandchlidren call me Jim. Their parents don't think this shows enough respect, but I'd rather be their pal than their old grandad.)
I'm not over tidy in appearance, more comfortable in denims than suits and ties, but I can make the effort...if asked very nicely.
People have said I look a bit like John Lennon, so this delights me. (My hair and round specs have a lot to do with that.) I love the music of the 60s up until the end of the 70s although some of today's bands do appeal to me.
I'm currently unemployed but I was a freelance writer until my world went pop. I'm looking for a lady who can restore my faith in the fair sex and put the snap and crackle back
Hobbies:
Music, writing songs, poetry, cinema, history and watching sports.
Looking for:
My preferences are for a dark haired, not very tall lady whose figure isn't all that important. Smoker preferred but not essential, it's just that I do and non-smokers tend to be a bit more adamant about this point. (Wish I'd never started though.)
Must like pubs, live music, karaoke, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Faces, The Who, Free and Bob Dylan and, if we're in a place where there's karaoke, she must be prepared to have me getting up and down almost all the time to sing!
The lady I'm looking for should be fun loving, young at heart, loyal, honest, caring, sensitive and half-daft...well she'd have to be to take me on.
Basically, I want a lady who, as well as being a lover - eventually, of course - could also be my best friend. A lady who can pick me up when I'm down, and bring me down a few pegs when it's needed.
"Life is a long song," as the Jethro Tull songs goes - I also have a terrible habit of quoting song lyrics - and I'm looking for a lady who can sing the rest of
